Herpasa builds a new apple compote production plant in Mexico

Herpasa is at an advanced phase of the construction of an apple compote plant in Cuauhtemoc Chiuahua, Mexico.

Compote is a food intended mainly for infants, made from various fruits and soft vegetables. It is a very healthy food that helps the development of babies and is recommended as the second meal of the day. Its production consists of 70-100% fruit with natural stabilizers added at 25-35 degrees Brix.

It is a turnkey project, from the construction of the metal structure of the building, approximately 4500  M2,  to the implementation of the entire production process, and all the services necessary for the operation of the plant. The plant will have a capacity to process 720kg of apples/hour, which will be packaged at the rate of 7200 bags/hour.

The process phases are as follows:

• Reception of the raw material.
• Dumping of the apples into containers.
• Washing.
• Filtering.
• Sorting.
• Handling of the product for the next process.
• pH correction.
• Enzymatic inactivation.
• Storage of the product before feeding the packaging machine.
• Packaging.
• Autoclave sterilization.

This project is part of HERPASA's strategy of selling turnkey projects for the agri-food industry consisting of compotes, fruit juices, and concentrates such as apple, pear, banana, mango, amongst others.
