Herpasa will collaborate on a project in Austria for a new calcium carbonate manufacturing plant of 30,000 tons/year.
Calcium Carbonate has many industrial applications. In general, it is used as an additive for paper and plastics (it improves the extrusion speed and the mechanical properties of plastic), and it is widely used in the chemical, paints, adhesives, glass, ceramics, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. In the agricultural industries, it is mostly used for animal feed among others.
The process for obtaining it includes reception of the raw material, washing to reduce the impurity contents, drying, grinding and packaging the final product for storage and sale.
The tanks and other equipment necessary for the manufacture of calcium carbonate will be supplied during this year and the start of production of the plant is foreseen for the beginning of 2020.
